"Flight of the Cockatiel." A musical of flight.
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.4 месяца назад
While video-analyzing flight of birds and simultaneously listening to music found that I could get a wing beat that optimized to music at 140bpm. Well for Cockatiels. I then listened to flight of a Bumble bee. Way too fast for Cockatiels. So, I put a composition together, only then finding that nystagmus induced vertigo resulted from full speed telephoto flight video. The video had to be slow-m...

Bush Birds of Australia

Little birds that flash by in the bush are always difficult to ID. Here I have ignored raptors waders, parrots, honeyeaters etc. to give you a close look at these winged beauties of creation. Most shots are with a purpose of showing bird behavior or a bird call. All footage is in the wild. The music is not the best but my best, apologies. This is the first in2 part series to help with ID for bi...

nice video👌👌
Yes my budgies and other birds have big flight cages natural perches lots of toys and a good diet and come out of there cage a lot to spread there wings and play!!!!🦜❤️
The detail Bruce provides is exceptional, from the swallowing mechanism to Latham's search for glory. Back in the '70's Take Matsuo and Hans Naarding were the first to postulate the bird's direct migratory flight from Japan to Australia, long before trackers were invented!
😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰💞💞💞🧡🧡🧡
Cheers
Wonderful! as a new bird photographer I have had the pleasure of observing many of these birds in the coastal (SE Qld) environment. However, your descriptions have helped me understand the differences that I have not understood before. Thank you so much.
Many thanks!
A wonderful video. Thank you.

Many thanks

I agree
И я мало слушаю музыку с процессорами вокальными, лучше ложать своим диапозоном, чем чтото подкладывать в виде подушки . М вообще вчякие ремиксные вкци с аемплами и луперами, но для общено развития заинтересовалось

You sound like me; so good not to be colour blind.
Wonderful. I just identified the white brow from my bedroom window this morning. Great video love the commentary , thank you .
You are so welcome!
My cockatiel is going crazy looking for the others😂. Almost fell of his perch.😅
LOL
Dont be fooled by cockatiels diminutive size. They are so full if character and makes wonderful companions. Also can live 30 years . We are a cockatiels fanatics household. Weve had several over my fifty years . I had a white faced male. He was tge mist incredible burd ever. Calling him a bird just cant do justice to him and his position as the head of the house 😂. Its broken my heart hes not here with us anymore. We also had a beautiful lutino called Monty who we thought was male but turned out he was a she lol 😆. But he wasnt a very well bird and he passed away only aged two 😢. My father in law made him a beautiful lead coffin all decorated with engraving. He was our first ever as adults in our house ( my dad had tgem when i was a kid ) but tgey lived in a aviary. Ours lived indoors. After three years of not having them,( we vowed necer to get anymore after our beloved wally left us 😢😢😢) We got him as a companion for our first bird when my partner and i moved in together sixteen yesrs ago. We got him because we were working long hours in the catering world. We got what we thought was a female but un fact he was all male, and was very dominant and sung constantly. He was amazing. He could learn new tunes easily and had a decent repertoire inc star wars darth vader tune , the good the bad and the ugly, smoke on the water by deep purple, the got theme slong with various whistles and sound effects. He was incredible. Even though no two are alike and all are very much individuals with their own character and flaws 😂 . They are very affectionate and loved nothing more than spending time with you. Loved head rubs and would fly on your plate to steal your food at meal times. At one point we had three and the more the better!!. The other two came from a house were they didn't want to spend any time with them and complained about their noise. It was cos they were bored. Also even though they came from the same house they were never allowed to be together abd were separated in two cages in tge same room so would call out to each other. They wete okd when we got them and were not used to be handled. But it took months but we got them used to us and would sit next to us on the sofa. We found we gained their trust using food. Especially little nibbles of ours. They loved mature cheddar over anything. And spelt crackers or oat cakes. If you ever get the chance snd want a loving pet / companion then you cant get better than a cockatiel but please try not to get from a pet shop especially from a big company pet stores as they can be weak and have all sorts of health issues. Uf buying one try to get from a local breeder especially in sn aviary where they are used to flying. Also a responsible breeder won't allow them to go to their new home until they are a certain age and usually used to handling. But if you get one please make sure you have all the right supplies and facilities for them like a good sized cage where there is plenty of riom for them to get about. Register with a vet and try to get goid quality food. Also make sure tgey have lots of toys for their cage including spares so you can change their cage so they don't get bored. Put in the time and effort and you will be rewarded with an incredible little character who will genuinely love you sbd will sung to you ( definitely if they are male) . If you want quiet then a female may be better but if you can try to get a male. Especially a dominant feisty little bugger as IMHO tgey make the absolute best and will entertain you al the time. Also remember to civer tfem with a blanket or a curtain. They are so much in such a little package. Like a little flying puppy lol 😂
Thanks for the comment
So informative!
Glad it was helpful!
That was excellent thanks. Now I understand about the calls. I wondered about the occasional che che at the end. Didn't realise it was the female reply to the male call.
You're very welcome
I walk along a spot of the Mary River QLD each morning. It is such a fabulous spot for birds with remnant native eucalypt forest, tall grasses for the finches etc. and a massive Moreton Bay fig. Its a citadel for birds, insects and no doubt possums and Co. I call it the "whipbird walk" because every morning they're calling and it just tops off the morning. @@plumesofoz

A cockatoo is any of the 21 species of parrots belonging to the family Cacatuidae, the only family in the superfamily Cacatuoidea. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cockatoo , en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parrot Either the word parrot means something different where you are, or you are mislead.
Thanks I will check it out on the video
It's a great video but the musical backing was awful, there were beautiful bird calls I would much rather have listened to
Thanks comment appreciated. Working onit.
They have such cute voices
Nice work. Thanks!
They are beautiful birds, took my breath away when I came across one sitting on a stump just a few meters away from me. We had a moment of uncertainty as to who should move first and those big wings wow you could hear the power behind the lift off. Thank you for this information and beautiful footage. 👍🩷
yes my cat enjoyed it
Truly a bird of few words.
A great and lively fidget; what amazing effort they put into the crack of the wwhip - a small bodily convulsion to expel the soundburst :)
Awesome.
All the Species of Parrot,s are my Best Favourite Pet Bird,s. 👌👌👍👍❤❤
Budgies Parrot is my Best Favourite Pet Bird. And other,s are also. 👌👌👍👍❤
No wonder why elders in my village (New Britain Island - PNG)used to tell us crows also hatch these channel-billed cuckoos. They too knew nothing about their parasitic behavior thinking that crows actually lay these eggs that hatch cuckoos. Thanks, now I know 😊
Thanks for the comment appreciated.
Beautiful vid! I never knew there existed this many types of Cockatoo's.
I saw these a week ago at Culgoa for the first time, and it’s changed my life. I can’t stop thinking about finding more.
